At House of Nepal, we strive to provide the best possible shopping experience to all of our customers. We would gladly accept the goods for a return if you are unhappy with your purchase for any reason. A significant amount of time and effort goes into making sure a product gets to your door safely. We sincerely advise you to make your purchase carefully so that returns are as unlikely as possible. However, if you would want to make a return, please adhere to the following policies:

  • We have a 7-day return policy, which means you have 7 days after receiving your item to request a return along with proof of purchase.
  • Only full-priced items are eligible for returns. Sale and discounted items, accessories, jewelry, home decor items, and gift cards are not eligible for returns and exchanges.
  • Returns for store credit are free of charge, whereas a refund will attract a handling and restocking fee of 10% of your total product price.
  • Customers are responsible for return shipping. Store credits and refunds are processed only after receiving the items in unused and in original condition. (Please be extra careful of visible stains, makeup, smells, and embellishments falling off.)
  • The initial delivery costs are not refundable. If you have received the item with free shipping, we will pass along the delivery costs to you.

To start a return, you can contact us at houseofnepalau@gmail.com. If your return is accepted, we’ll send you the instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues

Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, or damaged, or if you receive the wrong item so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

  • With the increase in online shopping, couriers and postage are badly disrupted. By default, they only provide $50 if the item is lost. But not to worry, we insure our items for full value for loss and damage in transit.
  • Please do not accept a visibly broken or damaged parcel from the courier.
  • If the contents of the parcel are damaged, please take a clear picture of the contents along with the original packaging. It will be investigated by the courier thoroughly. So, the more pictures the better it is. You can not claim after 3 days of the delivery and if the packaging is thrown away.
  • We will refund the full value including shipping, once the investigation is completed. It might take 2-6 weeks.
  • For the manufacturing defects, we will replace the damaged items asap. If the item is out of stock, we will refund in full including the shipping charges once we get the items in their original condition with tags and receipts.
  • Please allow 4-8 working days to show up the credit in your account.
  • Remember, handmade items might differ slightly in size, color, and weight as they are made individually. Please accept this as a unique character rather than a defect.

Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging. You’ll also need the receipt or proof of purchase.

Care Instructions for traditional clothes:

  1. Dry Cleaning: Traditional clothes are often made of delicate fabrics and adorned with intricate embellishments. Dry cleaning is the preferred method for cleaning traditional clothes to ensure their longevity. Take your traditional clothes to a professional dry cleaner who specializes in handling delicate garments.
  2. Storing: Proper storage is crucial to maintain the quality of your traditional clothes. After dry cleaning, store your traditional clothes in a cotton or muslin garment bag. Avoid using plastic bags as they can trap moisture and lead to mould or mildew. Hang the traditional clothes in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, to prevent discolouration or fading.
  3. Folding: If you prefer folding your traditional clothes, ensure it is clean and dry before proceeding. Gently fold the traditional clothes along the pleats, keeping the embellished side on the inside to protect it. Place acid-free tissue paper between the folds to prevent creasing and maintain the shape. Store the folded traditional clothes in a cotton or muslin bag.
  4. Handling: When handling your traditional clothes, be mindful of the delicate fabrics and embellishments. Avoid pulling or tugging forcefully, as it can damage the stitching or embellishments. Handle the traditional clothes with clean hands to prevent transferring dirt or oils onto the fabric.
  5. Ironing: If your traditional clothes require ironing, use a low heat setting and place a thin cotton cloth over the traditional clothes before ironing. This will protect the fabric from direct heat and prevent any damage. Avoid ironing over embellishments or delicate embroidery to avoid flattening or melting them.
  6. Spot Cleaning: In case of minor stains or spills, it's important to act quickly. Use a soft, clean cloth or a cotton swab dipped in a mild detergent diluted with water to gently dab the stained area. Avoid rubbing vigorously, as it can spread the stain or damage the fabric. Always test the cleaning solution on a small, inconspicuous area before applying it to the stain.
  7. Fragile Embellishments: traditional clothes often feature delicate embellishments such as sequins, beads, or zari work. Handle these areas with extra care, as they can snag or come loose easily. Avoid hanging traditional clothes next to sharp objects or jewellery that may catch on the fabric.
  8. Perfumes and Deodorants: Avoid spraying perfumes or deodorants directly onto your traditional clothes, as they can stain or discolour the fabric. Apply perfumes or deodorants on your body before wearing traditional clothes to prevent any accidental contact.
  9. Avoid Moisture and Sunlight: Traditional clothes should be protected from moisture and direct sunlight. Exposure to sunlight can lead to fabric fading or discolouration, while moisture can cause mould, mildew, or damage to the fabric. Store your traditional clothes in a dry place and avoid storing them in areas prone to high humidity.
  10. Clothing with a digital print or made of cotton should only be washed separately in cold water to prevent colour runs and shrinkage.

By following these care instructions, you can help ensure the longevity and beauty of your traditional clothes, allowing you to enjoy wearing them on multiple occasions.
